Global pneumatics expert officially opens in South Africa

Having opened its doors in 2015, 21 April 2016 marked the official opening of SMC Pneumatics’ South African head office in Midrand. Boasting a total area of 4317 square metres, the SMC head office is home to a state-of-the-art showroom as well as a warehouse with facilities for the local production of select items.

Established in Japan in 1959, SMC Pneumatics is a global leader in pneumatic technology and industrial automation offering over 12 000 basic components in over 700 000 variants.

SMC’s national training schedule, developed by training manager Riaan van Eck, offers Basic Pneumatics, Electro-Pneumatics, Basic Hydraulics, Electro-Hydraulics and Mechatronic courses. The courses are designed to cover both theory and practical and make use of some of the latest training equipment. Additionally, SMC Pneumatics also prides itself in its constant pursuit for customisation and thereby offers customised training courses should businesses require a tailored curriculum.
