Denmark-based Scancon offers a variety of incremental and absolute encoders, including Ex-rated devices. On offer are:
• ATEX encoders, both incremental and absolute, are used in a variety of applications and specifically within the oil and gas industries. Range of sizes from 24 to 108 mm with housings, cable glands and covers of non-corrosive material, which allows for environmental ratings up to IP69K.
• ATEX Zone 2 for drilling and wire-line operations in the oil and gas industries. With a shaft that is mechanically fixed in place and an unbreakable metal or plastic disc, the 2QEX is built to withstand shocks and vibration associated with oil rig operations. It carries an environmental rating of IP67.
• Industrial encoders for oil and gas fields and mining applications have been specifically designed to withstand harsh environments.
• Heavy duty encoders for specialised applications.
• Miniature EX-rated encoders for rig control and commercial painting enclosures.
• Transient suppression module (TSM) for environments where severe electrical transient and disturbances occur. The module protects the encoder electronics from power-overload malfunctions via the cable.
