Sensor for multispectral colour measurement

Wenglor has introduced the P1F001six channel multispectral sensor with fibre optic cable for precision colour detection in the red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet (ROYGBV) colour space. The finest colour nuances in all visible light ranges can be reliably detected, differentiated and transmitted via interfaces such as IO-Link.
This latest generation of sensors covers the six ranges of ROYGBV colours and in combination with 12 switching outputs, permits simultaneous differentiation of up to 12 colours. Beyond this, the sensor offers separate adjustment of the colour tolerance ranges for any desired colour value, saturation and brightness.
The fibre optic cables allow the sensors to be used in difficult to access places and in areas exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 to 250°C. With the intuitive operating concept, all sensor settings can be entered either directly at the OLED display with the help of the wizard, with Wenglor’s new wTeach2 configuration software via RS-232 interface, or via the IO-Link interface. The sensor is therefore ideal for any Industrie 4.0 application.
The fibre optic cable also ensures reliable measured values even at variations of distance between the probe and the object. Automatic adjustment of light intensity and a service life of up to 50 000 hours are made possible via the integrated LED technology.
