Inductive sensor for three applications

May 2015 Sensors & Transducers

The new IFS inductive sensor from ifm electronic is suitable for industrial, mobile, cooling and lubricating applications. With a large temperature range from -40 to 85°C and protection rating from IP65 to IP69K, it provides reliable detection due to improved sensor tolerances.

This new generation of inductive sensors is the first where one sensor can be used for three different applications. The new ifm technology platform offers universal and permanent usability while guaranteeing high performance, temperature stability and higher sensing ranges – whether in factory automation, applications with coolants and lubricants or mobile applications.

Setup of the sensors is flexible, easy and fast via the M12 connection or a 2 m PUR cable. Increased sensing ranges guarantee reliable detection of the objects. Since only one sensor is required for different applications, stock-keeping is reduced. This new generation of sensors meets the user’s requirement for increased machine uptime while offering a reliable switching function.

Always keeping an eye on the measured values
ifm - South Africa Electrical Power & Protection
Despite growing digitalisation, there are still many situations where analogue measured values such as the level in a tank or the temperature of a climatised room must be directly readable in the control cabinet or at the control desk. The current loop display is designed for precisely this purpose.
