Level Measurement & Control

Level measurement in pressurised or vacuum vessels

April 2015 Level Measurement & Control

Endress+Hauser’s Deltabar FMD71 and FMD72 electronic differential pressure transmitters, the latest level measurement family from Endress+Hauser, combines the features of uncompromising quality, high reliability and safety, for users and processes as well as outstanding cost-efficiency across the entire life cycle. The design and the electronic architecture of the system eliminate the typical problems of impulse line and capillary systems.

The level, volume or mass of liquids in pressurised or vacuum tanks is commonly determined by differential pressure. The problems most frequently mentioned in conventional differential pressure measurements with impulse lines or oil-filled capillaries are unreliable measured values due to temperature impact, clogging, icing, leaks and condensate.

The new electronic differential pressure system of Endress+Hauser eliminates these problems. It not only provides precise measured values but also facilitates reliable and safe process control – and all of this with low operating costs. Production downtimes due to unexpected maintenance requirements are now a thing of the past.

The right sensor technology increases reliability, safety and cost efficiency. Every application has its specific requirements, be it vacuum, abrasion, acid, condensate, steam or temperature changes. Based on years of experience, Endress+Hauser has gained valuable know-how about industries for the benefit of customers. This resulted in the development of the Ceraphire ceramic and silicon sensors with metal membranes, each presenting the optimum solution – even in demanding applications. Therefore, the electronic DP system is available with Ceraphire ceramic cells – Deltabar FMD71, as well as with silicon metal cells – Deltabar FMD72.
