Yokogawa Electric Corporation has announced that its subsidiary, Yokogawa Saudi Arabia, has received orders to deliver distributed control systems (DCS) for two combined cycle power plants that the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) is building in Riyadh. (A combined cycle power generation system recovers the exhaust heat from the gas turbines to produce the superheated steam that drives the steam turbines.)
Yokogawa will deliver the Centum VP integrated production DCSs for the monitoring, control and operation of these plants’ gas turbines, heat recovery boilers, steam turbines, and electric systems. The company will carry out all DCS engineering work and provide support for installation, commissioning and training of operators. Delivery is scheduled for the first half of 2016.
