The new generation PN pressure sensor series from ifm electronic combines the tried and tested strengths of the previous models with considerably increased accuracy and robustness. With high overload protection, IP67 for all types in the series and the captive laser labelling, the new PN sensors are suitable for use in harsh environments.
Although the housing size has remained unchanged, the display size has been increased and the two switching status LEDs on the sensor head can be clearly seen from all sides. The display can be switched from a ‘red’ indication to an alternating indication of ‘red to green’. Therefore, the switching states can be highlighted or an independent colour window can be created. The new PN sensor is quickly and easily set using three pushbuttons, and due to the new process connection with G 1/8 thread and numerous fixing holes, the PN78 meets common pneumatic standards.
The sensor features a measuring cell especially for pneumatic applications. It has a -1 to 1 bar or -1 to 10 bar pressure range and variable fixing options via the process connection and accessories. The process connection can be rotated for optimum alignment. The unit features two programmable switching outputs or a switching and diagnostic output and an option for differential pressure measurement.
