The new WirelessHART Fieldgate SWG70 from Endress+Hauser allows a photographic view of the topology of a wireless network as well as the display of network statistics that help simplify installation, commissioning and diagnostic tasks.
In addition, the latest firmware displays all process values and statuses on a single page. The information can be viewed with a Web browser or by using FieldCare and DTMs. In the network overview, the communication paths between the devices are shown as lines. The colour and thickness of the lines show the quality of the connection and the traffic on the paths respectively. An integrated table – the network statistics – gives detailed information on the reliability of the connections and the average time for the transmission of a data packet over the network.
The information that is available in the overview greatly simplifies and shortens the installation and commissioning of a wireless network. During operation of the plant, any disturbance of the connection is easily recognised and thus more quickly remedied.
