Infrabelt moisture sensor
May 2014
Sensors & Transducers
The new Infrabelt smart infrared sensor from EDIT is specially designed for in-line measurement of moisture in bulk products transported on a conveyor belt. The humidity of materials can be measured simply, accurately and reliably in real time. Infrabelt uses the latest technologies, including IR, by combining multi-wavelength absorption of the water molecule. It overcomes the limitations of NIR technology and ensures the best measurement precision, regardless of the variations in the process and product to be measured.
Infrabelt consists of optical, mechanical and electronic parts specifically designed to work under the conditions of bulk process industries. It improves profitability and quality control and provides continuous and real-time measurement. The infrared sensor has a 0,2 to 98% H2O measuring range, 100 ms response time, and 0,01% resolution and it meets IP65 requirements. If required, an ATEX version is available. Typical applications include moisture measurement of coal, cement, lime and clay.
