The Comtest Group has introduced the Fluke 2042 professional general-purpose cable locator. It is ideal for tracing cables in walls and underground, locating fuses/breakers on final circuits and locating interruptions and short-circuits in cables and electrical floor heating systems. The 2042 can also be used for tracing metallic water and heating pipes.
The unit is shipped as a complete kit comprising a transmitter and receiver in a purpose-made carry case. The transmitter has a LC-display for level and code receiving, and live voltage indication. The receiver has a backlit LC-display with torch function for working in dimly lit locations. The digitally coded, transmitter output guarantees clear signal identification and the unit is rated CATIll/300V with Safety Certificates EN 61010-16.
