The Leuze multiple light beam safety sensors (MLD series) were designed for efficiency and these sensors have now been equipped with new functions as part of a further development.
Effective immediately, users can increase or reduce the operating range of the Leuze MLD units from 50 to 20 metres in one simple action. This increased functionality is particularly important where there is optical cross talk between adjacent protective fields, ie, where the transmitter of a transmitter-receiver system influences the receiver of the adjacent system.
Another important feature is a change to the muting indicator which can now clearly signal not only the muting state but also OSSD and error states over long distances by means of a colour display. This ensures easier operation and greater reliability. Together with the OSSD message output, direct and simple diagnosis is now possible both visually as well as via the downstream PLC.
The Leuze MLD series also offers the ability to activate the alignment laser of the safety sensor with a button further enhancing the sensor’s ease of operation and efficiency.
