Eaton Electric meets the media

News
Eaton Electric South Africa recently held a business tea to meet the media and introduce its product portfolio, facilities and strategy. The company was founded when international power management and technology provider, Eaton Corporation, acquired CHI Control, Meissner and Norsa Electronics in June 2011.
Following an overview by marketing manager, Mark Strydom the press was given a tour of Eaton’s extensive manufacturing facilities. These consist of the CHI works, which produces motor control centres, distribution panels and medium voltage panels; the Norsa transformer division, which was built to allow backward integration into the UPS division; and the power quality (PQ) division, which produces various UPS brands, including the well known local Meissner brand. “We start adding value through our relationships with our large end users,” says Strydom.
The Eaton team, from L: Rory Reid, sales leader; Marlene Coetzee, marketing analyst; Mark Strydom, marketing manager; Eleonore Gonnelle, service leader; Athol Hankey, product line manager Africa.
The four product divisions were introduced by product line manager, Athol Hankey. The small but growing industrial automation business unit (IAB) offers PLCs and HMIs. One of its smart products is the Smartwire, which substantially reduces the labour in wiring control panels. Then there is the power quality division, the power distribution components (PDC) division and the engineering sales and support (ESS) division, which was presented by service manager, Elenore Gonelle.
