Turck has released Namur sensors with SIL2 certification and Atex approval for use in the Ex area. These inductive proximity switches with a terminal chamber offer a vibration-proof connection using removable screw or cage clamp terminals. This considerably simplifies exchange during servicing. The wash-down version WDTC Namur sensors also offer maximum freedom and switching distances. The user can select between straight or a 90 degree angled cable outlet by simply rotating the cover. The cable is fed into the terminal chamber cover via a standard M16 cable gland.
LEDs in the terminal chamber indicate the switching state of the sensors. The monitoring function for cable-break and short-circuit detection also helps to increase plant availability. The V4A steel sensor housing can withstand even the harshest media. With protection to IP68 and IP69K, as well as a temperature range from -40 to +100°C, the sensors are suitable for use in extremely harsh environments. The entire sensor with terminal chamber is FDA-compliant.
