New thermal imagers

January 2013 Maintenance, Test & Measurement, Calibration

Fluke has introduced two new thermal imagers, the Ti105 and the TiR105, which can be used in a wide range of applications. Typical users include maintenance professionals; troubleshooting technicians; preventative and predictive maintenance professionals; industrial and commercial electricians; I&E and HVAC/R technicians; facilities managers; energy auditors; and restoration and remediation professionals. They have application in industrial plants; commercial buildings and facilities; government buildings; schools; hospitals; electrical, water and natural gas utilities; and residential dwellings.

These new extended imagers help users do more in less time, even in the harshest of environments. They are light and rugged and are the easiest to use of Fluke’s range of professional thermal imagers. Features include an IR-OptiFlex focus system which allows the user to detect problems significantly faster while giving optimum focus. Manual focus is also available on the same machine for optimal flexibility.

The patented IR-fusion technology blends digital and infrared images into a single image to precisely document problem areas. Multi-mode video recording makes troubleshooting simple. These are the industry’s only thermal imagers that record focus-free video in visible light and infrared with full IR-fusion capability. This monitors processes over time and creates infrared video reports which troubleshoot frame by frame and are downloadable to PC for video viewing and analysis.

With the IR-PhotoNotes annotation system, exact references to problem areas can be noted by capturing up to three digital photos per file. Images of equipment, motor nameplates, workroom doors or other useful or critical information can be added.

The imagers also have superior image quality and IR performance, with 160X120 FPA uncooled microbolometers. The 9 cm colour LCD with clear protective cover and adjustable brightness results in easy viewing in most conditions. The excellent thermal sensitivity (NETD) detects even the smallest temperature differences.
