SAIMC’s International INSPIRE Conference

June 2026 SAIMC

The SAIMC International INSPIRE Conference 2026 will be held on 14 and 15 October 2026 at Glenburn Lodge, Muldersdrift, Johannesburg.

INSPIRE, which stands for Interdisciplinary Summit for Progress, Innovation, Research and Excellence, will incorporate the SAIMC, RobMech and PRASA conferences bringing together professionals from industry, academia, robotics, automation, manufacturing and smart mining.

The RobMech/PRASA portion of the INSPIRE conference has the official approval of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers South Africa (IEEE), and the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society.

The two-day event will feature multiple presentation streams covering industrial case studies, thought leadership, peer-reviewed research and practical success stories. The conference aims to strengthen collaboration across traditional industrial operations, robotics and intelligent systems while providing a platform for technology suppliers and solution providers to showcase their latest innovations. The event will offer valuable networking opportunities and facilitate engagement between manufacturing operations leaders, automation specialists, researchers and members of the broader robotics community.

Sponsorship and exhibition opportunities are available across a range of packages. Accommodation can be booked at the venue for delegates requiring overnight stays.

Industry presenters are invited to submit abstracts of 100 to 200 words by 14 August 2026, with final presentations due by 12 September 2026. Academic paper submissions are being coordinated through the RobMech and PRASA conference streams.

The conference is expected to attract a wide range of participants involved in automation, robotics, smart manufacturing and digital transformation across southern Africa.
