The SAIMC Zambia executive committee met and confirmed strategic matters relating to governance, member engagement, and professional development. The minutes of the previous meeting were adopted.
The executive committee structure for the official two-year term was confirmed as follows: Kiranraj Shetty, president; Leo Chikasa, vice president (past president); Enock Shikabeta, secretary (immediate past president); and David Kawangu, treasurer. Nawa Akakandelwa and J Benson Mwanza serve as Committee Members, with support from patrons Charles Sakanya, Tresford Siame Simwanza, and Ken Simwanza.
The revised annual membership fees were approved as follows: Corporate Members, K1000; Ordinary Members, K375; Retired Members, K100; and Student Members, K50.
The Committee confirmed upcoming technical activities, including product presentations on Siemens PLC S7 Series (ISL) and Fluke multimeters (EIS), and participation in Caminex (May 2026, Kitwe) and the MTE Expo (September/October 2026, Kitwe). SAIMC Zambia will also support the IEEE Robotics & Automation/Control Systems Conference (1–5 June 2026, Austria) through local viewing venues at selected institutions.
Administrative updates included the establishment of an official SAIMC Zambia email address, planning for the annual end-of-year function, and continued engagement with SAIMC South Africa on branch development and member feedback systems.
