Diaphragm seal systems with Tri-Clamp

In sanitary applications, diaphragm seal systems ensure a safe and precise monitoring of the process pressure. WIKA therefore also offers welded units of diaphragm seal and measuring instrument with Tri-Clamp connection for process integration. A combination of this connection with easy-to-clean NovAseptic connecting pieces is possible without further modification.

Compact component

The Tri-Clamp connection is widely used in sanitary applications. It is used, among other things, for tanks and similar vessels. Compared to other process connections for this industry, e.g.


DIN 11864-2 flange connection, the Tri-Clamp is a compact and lightweight component. The great advantage of this type of connection is its ease of handling. Measuring instruments are installed, without tools, using a clamp connection.

In order to be able to integrate the Tri-Clamp into the process, a connecting nozzle of the same size is required as a counterpart. In this way, an additional hollow body is created on the vessel. Here, a dead space can arise during the process due to air inclusions or gas bubbles. Thus, an increased cleaning effort is necessary to minimise the potential risks.

Rapid cleaning processes

NovAseptic connecting pieces are an hygienic alternative to this. The adapter for the Tri-Clamp connection is welded directly into the surface of the vessel and the ferrule is fixed with head nuts. When installed correctly, the connecting nozzle welded in flush to the tank wall ensures a connection without dead space. This fulfils an essential prerequisite for effective and, at the same time, rapid CIP/SIP processes.
