Wago supports telecontrol protocols
August 2011
Fieldbus & Industrial Networking
Internationally standardised protocols are becoming increasingly important in infrastructure automation applications.
With the I/O-System telecontroller, Wago already supports both standardised IEC 60870-5-101 and 60870-5-104 telecontrol protocols. New components supporting both IEC 61850 and IEC 61400-25 communication protocols have now joined the Wago-I/O-System. As a result, the modular automation platform now not only supports telecontrol protocols, but also provides users a wide range of I/O modules for diverse applications.
The new telecontroller 750-872 and more powerful 758-870 and 758-875 are programmable using CoDeSys V2.3, providing internationally standardised protocols via CoDeSys libraries. Depending on the application, Wago provides scalable solutions from a 32-bit controller to high-performance IPC. A specialty configuration tool simplifies IEC communication parameterisation.
Internationally standardised telecontrol protocols monitor supply networks and transformers, integrate pumped-storage and hydroelectric power plants into control systems and provide a network platform for wind and solar farms.
