Wonderware Southern Africa undergoes name change to IS³
1 July 2018
News
Wonderware Southern Africa, sole regional distributor of Wonderware industrial software solutions, an EOH company, has undergone a digital transformation to become IS³ - Industry Software, Solutions and Support, pronounced as ‘eye-es-cube’, a move that makes the company the official distributor of AVEVA Software for the sub-Saharan African region.
This follows the milestone combination of AVEVA with Schneider Electric’s industrial software business in March 2018, creating one of the largest providers of engineering and industrial software worldwide. AVEVA delivers an end-to-end portfolio focused on driving digital transformation across the entire asset and operational lifecycles of industrial clients, thus maximising return on capital and improving profitability.
With a 60% Schneider Electric shareholding, AVEVA operates as an autonomous business. The company’s installed base of over 16 000 customers and two million software licences at more than 100 000 sites in 130 countries connects over 20 billion device points, executes in excess of 4.4 trillion industrial transactions daily, and stores above 12 petabytes of data annually.
“We’ve enjoyed a phenomenal year thus far, having recently held our most successful X-Change event to date, bringing 420 delegates together with five keynote speakers and 20 exhibitors,” explains Deon Barnard, IS³ Managing Director.
“It has also been a year of great growth and development, with our rebranding being one of the greatest changes yet. “Our appointment by AVEVA as the local distributor of its entire portfolio of software solutions is an exciting move for the business, and while we say goodbye to the Wonderware Southern Africa name, we remain the same company, with the same team of people, offering our clients exactly what we have been providing for the past 28 years, and with the same passion,” he states.
Daily operations will continue as usual, with the supply and support of Wonderware, Citect, AMPLA, SimSci, Aquis, ePLMS and Avantis, and this will always be the case. The only difference is that the IS³ software portfolio has now been expanded with the addition of AVEVA software, closing the gap between the operation and project sides of local plant-based businesses. This extended solution range will allow IS³ to cover the entire asset lifecycle, from design and commissioning to operation, maintenance and optimisation, using a single platform, finding the ‘value leaks’ within organisations as well as unrealised opportunities across value chains in all industries.
