Range of convoluted tubing
March 2003
Enclosures, Cabling & Connectors
HellermannTyton has introduced a range of flexible convoluted tubing for two classes of applications: Automotive: light duty (black) and medium duty: high impact (light grey). The tubing is available in 50 m coils.
The automotive type is manufactured from a grade of polypropylene that contains no heavy metals (eg, lead) and is halogen-free. This ensures a high quality, very flexible, environmentally-acceptable product that meets the stringent requirements of sheathing for automotive wiring harnesses. The tubing is available in slit or un-slit form. Standard colour is black, but can be provided in mid-grey, white or orange on request. Seven sizes are available, with ID and OD from 7 x 10 mm to 28 x 33 mm.
Operating temperature range is -20 to +150°C continuous rated. The polypropylene tubing has been tested and complies with various motor manufacturer's specifications.
The medium duty tubing is manufactured from high impact flexible, UV-stable PVC material affording a durable, crush-resistant product. The tubing is supplied in light grey as standard.
The flexibility, impact-resistance and UV-stability of the material makes it ideal for a wide range of conduit applications, and also meets the construction industry requirements for conduits. Operating temperature range is -5 to +50°C. Two sizes are available, ID and OD 15,5 x 20 mm and 20,5 x 25 mm.
