Instrotech has introduced Kobold’s KAL-D flow meters with an integrated microcontroller that allows users to adapt the device to individual process conditions. Its intelligent compensation function ensures stable switching points, even during significant temperature fluctuations.
The electronic flow monitor model KAL-D works according to the calorimetric principle, continuously monitoring water-based liquids. The sensor tip is heated to a few degrees above the temperature of the flowing medium. When the medium flows, heat generated in the probe is dissipated by the medium. In other words, the probe is cooled down. This cooling sequence precisely measures the flow velocity.
The sensor signal is compared with reference data stored in a microcontroller. An alarm signal is generated when the desired flow velocity is reached. Simple calibration and optimal temperature compensation is achieved with a microcontroller.
The KAL-D finds service in all applications where flow currents, with minimum pressure loss, need to be accurately monitored. The one-part design of the measuring probe also considerably reduces dirt sensitivity. Other features include:
• Switching range: 0,04-2 m/s (liquids); 1-20 m/s (air).
• Connections: G ¼, G ½, NPT, M12 x 1.
• Material: stainless steel.
• Maximum pressure: 100 bar (process pressure).
• Maximum temperature: 120°C (process temperature).
• Repeatability: 2%.
• Wide range of process connections; easy to customise, commission and install.
Precision measurement for ultra-pure water systems
Flow Measurement & Control
[Sponsored] Ultra-pure water (UPW) is essential in industries where even minor contaminants can impact product quality and process integrity. Anton Paar’s L-Cor Coriolis mass flowmeters provide a highly accurate and hygienic solution by directly measuring the mass of the liquid using the Coriolis effect, ensuring a high level of cleanliness.
