The new Lasermeter PIXIE+ is now on offer to the process control industry. This small, lightweight instrument with a polypropylene body is suitable for level sensing in bins up to 10 m, level control in crushers and short range positioning.
With a body weight of a mere 1,3 kg, the PIXIE+ is easy to install and its extremely compact dimensions allow for easy access in any difficult application mounting. The instrument has a 4 to 20 mA non-isolated output and requires 24 V d.c. supply. The instrument is programmable via a communications adaptor box with an RS232 output and can be connected directly to a laptop, PC or handheld programmer. The instrument operates at a temperature of 0 to 40°C. It has a 10 mm resolution over the full range.
An aluminium dust tube can be fitted to the instrument to protect the lenses from flying rocks and to prevent dust from settling on the lenses.
The Lasermeter PIXIE+ is priced competitively in the process control industry and as an entry level laser instrument with laser technology, its makers believe that it is set to become an instrument of choice for specific, short range level control of solids.
