High contrast resolution with white light

March 2003 Sensors & Transducers

High-speed operation due to a switching frequency of 25 kHz in combination with high geometric resolution, high contrast resolution and a small spot assure optimised operation of the new Wenglor series WP printed marking scanners with fast production sequences.

Two sensor variants are available with different working ranges of 20 and 40 mm. All printed marking colour combinations can be recognised with a single sensor. The sensor can be easily adapted to diverse applications by means of various teach-in functions, which is advantageous for applications requiring teach-in while the production process is actually running.

All grey-scale values from the background and the marking are continuously acquired with this function. The optimum switching threshold is calculated based upon these values. An anti-valent switching output, an external teach-in input and a trigger input are included. The integrated RS232 interface allows for digital configuration of all settings via a PC, as well as the read-out of values from a PC.

The devices are on offer from ASSTech Process Electronics & Instrumentation, which also represents the following agencies:

Gantner - data acquisition, controller and datalogger modules; Inducoder - shaft encoders; Rechner - capacitive and inductive sensors, opto-electronic, calorimetric flow sensors and magneto-resistive sensors; Jumo - professionals in process control; Burster - calibration and test equipment and Wöhrle - intelligent display systems.
