Spescom Measuregraph
Spescom MeasureGraph's electrical test division now offer structured wiring testers from AVO International. This range of equipment is designed to address the testing needs of anyone who installs or maintains structured wiring systems.
According to Spescom MeasureGraph ETD's Sales Manager Trevor Leong, structured wiring is a structured system of multipurpose generic wiring or cabling which is capable of supporting virtually any communication needs within an installation or building. The newly released Megger structured wiring testers will aid in the efficient installation of the cabling. Applications where this equipment is used include telephone or facsimile lines, corporate-wide LANs, security communication systems including cameras, control data and process feedback.
The Megger structured wiring testers have been specifically designed to help the installer check the installation for correct wiring, shorts or broken lines, exceeding 90 m limit and the tracing of circuits.
The SCT100 structured cable tester checks and verifies UTP and STP patch cables and installed networks, providing simple and instant results via LED indicators. The Megger SCT100 consists of a main and remote unit, both of which are designed to indicate shorts, opens, pair reversals and other miss-wires, whether on two, three or four-pair structured wiring systems.
The SCT500 structured cabling tester identifies all common wiring faults (including split pairs, opens and shorts) on STP and UTP cabling. The Megger SCT500 also has a built-in TDR facility for measuring cable or link length. In conjunction with 16 available remote units, it can identify the various circuits in a network.
The CLM2000 handheld cable length meter is capable of measuring the length of telecommunication, data communication, RF, small signal and power cables, whether on drums, in cut lengths or in installed sections. The instrument's memory is preprogrammed with a library of common cable types and, in addition, it is also capable of indicating the distance to a short circuit cable fault.
The Megger CXT100 is a handheld, battery-powered unit for testing coaxial cable assemblies. The unit is suitable for 'thin net' applications as well as CATV and RFR/microwave broadcast. Apart from indicating short-circuit faults and inner and outer conductor open circuits, the CXT100 will also indicate at which end a fault is situated.
Spescom MeasureGraph, a subsidiary of JSE-listed Spescom and a leading supplier of test and measurement equipment, is the sole local distributor of AVO International products which incorporates the brand names: Biddle, Megger, Multi-Amp and Foster.
