Liquid baths for temperature probe calibration

The usual problems associated with stirred liquid baths are the liquids themselves. No single liquid will work reliably from negative temperatures to 250°C. A user will probably choose an alcohol, methanol or acetone for negative temperatures, water for 0° to 95°C and a silicone oil for up to 250°C.
Isothermal Technology has engineered two new and unique portable stirred liquid baths with interchangeable containers, one for each liquid, thus preventing cross contamination between liquids. Covering the temperature range from -45 to 140°C and 30 to 250°C, the new baths feature a calibration vessel of 65 mm diameter by 160 mm deep, into which the new interchangeable containers snugly fit, offering complete flexibility when calibrating sensors over a wide temperature range. Stirring is by magnetic coupling giving another benefit, that the complete volume excepting the bottom 10 mm is available for calibrating sensors.
For calibrating liquid-in-glass thermometers a container is available together with accessories that support the thermometers at a desired depth. Other features of the two new baths include accessories to enable the unit to be used for absolute or comparison calibration, surface sensors, optical pyrometers, resistance thermometers and thermocouples. There are two options for each model, the Basic and the Site. The Site is provided with a semi-standard probe and the option of a UKAS calibration certificate making it compliant with EN 17025 and other standards.
