Reliable pressure switches for hydraulic and pneumatic applications

A new range of reliable and maintenance-free, electronic pressure switches has been introduced by IFM Electronic for use in hydraulic and pneumatic applications. The type PN meet IP 67 requirements and are designed for 85 to 265 V a.c. operation. Their potential-free triac outputs are capable of switching currents up to 2,5 A making them a convenient alternative to mechanical pressure switches.

Protected against overloads, and both shock and vibration resistant, the pressure switches have an integrated multirange power supply that operates with almost all common AC voltages. Their resilient measuring cells are resistant to pressure peaks and permit over 100-million switching cycles without wear.

Two pushbuttons allow the user to navigate through the configuration menu. A special feature of the switching point setting is that no system pressure is required. In addition, electronic locking of the set parameters protects against unauthorised access to the configuration.

Measured values can be indicated in bar, psi and MPa, and readouts of maximum and minimum values, as well as definitions of damping and delay times are possible.
