Low-cost continuos levels measurement

The Besta CLS capacitance level transmitters from MeasureTech, a Tyco International company, offer a low-cost solution to continuous level measurement across a diverse range of process media. From liquids, pastes and lightweight bulk materials, the CLS is suitable for use in hazardous areas, in applications up to 100 BarG (at 20°C) and temperatures up to 200°C. Adjustments for measuring range are made via two press-buttons with inputs acknowledged by an LED.

Transmission of the measured level is done across a two-wire system and the CLS is optionally available as a smart transmitter with HART protocol for level and volume measurement. The HART protocol allows connection of up to 15 transmitters on a solitary two-wire line in multidrop operation. An additional feature which ensures a higher degree of accuracy in irregular shaped containers is the 20 point value input which is achieved via a simple PC-based menu structure.

The CLS is available in both a rod type (4 m) and cable type (20 m) with a variety of materials ensuring operation even in highly aggressive applications. Conductive and nonconductive media can be measured in industries ranging from chemical, petrochemical, food and beverage, mining and wastewater. Process connections are available in both 1" and 11/2" as well as flanged versions to suit any application criteria.
