Endress+Hauser has recently established a Regional Service Support Centre (RSSC) in Harare to provide pre-sales consultation, technical know-how, commissioning and training services to sub-Saharan Africa.
As part of its global vision that "customers identify Endress+Hauser world-wide as the truly international full-range instrumentation solution provider", it has established what is believed to be a world first global support infrastructure to service its equipment, that may be supplied by leading OEM and engineering companies to less sophisticated markets.
Typically there are measuring instruments integrated into bottling lines and potable water treatment plants and other process industries.
To date there are RSSCs established in South Africa, Singapore, India, Hong Kong, Brazil, Poland and the United Arab Emirates. The benefit to users of Endress+Hauser equipment is that they can be assured of the highest level of support from factory trained technicians as well as professional training services relatively close to their process plants.
To date Endress+Hauser's technical services have been used in Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Zambia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and further contracts should be honoured in Nigeria and Ghana.
Says John Immelman, Managing Director of Endress+Hauser, "We believe that this strategy plays a large part in the increasing market penetration of our equipment in Africa."
