Valves, Actuators & Pump Control
The Industrial Measurement and Control business of Honeywell is offering three new models to its HercuLine family of actuators. The HercuLine 2000 and the HercuLine 2001 and 2002 smart actuators are low torque electric actuators capable of torques from 5,65 to 45 Nm (50 to 400 inch-lbs). They are suitable for positioning dampers, fuel/air valves, butterfly valves or dampers, or other rotary final control devices. The actuators are engineered for precise positioning of dampers and valves. They perform well in demanding environments requiring continuous duty, high reliability, and low maintenance.
Intended for current proportional, or digital control applications, access to all actuator parameters for realtime business and maintenance decisions is standard through Modbus RTU, local display, or via a Palm PDA with HercuLink software.
The actuators feature health monitoring, which accumulates information about actuator operation. The information may then be used to evaluate and determine predicted or scheduled maintenance periods. Parameters monitored are accumulated stall time, exceeded thermal operating rating of the actuator, number of motor starts in a region of travel, total travel and current actuator travel. These features make it easy for operations personnel to identify potential problems.
Other standard features include a self-locking/releasing gear train that holds position upon loss of power; a no burn-out motor that can be stalled up to 100 hours without damage to the actuator and low power consumption. Mounting may be implemented in any orientation without degrading performance. All models have an optional geared hand-wheel and an external auto/manual electric switch.
