Swiss-based water purification specialist Christ Water Technology (CWT) has chosen Krohne's best-selling variable area (VA) flowmeter - the H250 - to play a key role in its processes.
CWT is rated among the top suppliers worldwide of high-tech large-scale water treatment plants. It utilises Krohne's H250 flowmeters to accurately measure and monitor liquid flow within its Osmotron and Loopo units. These produce and regulate ultra-pure water specifically for the semiconductor, pharmaceutical and power generation industries. Because purified water is not electrically conductive, a magnetically inductive reading would not be suitable for this type of application. Ultrasonic or Coriolis flowmeters would be more expensive and require more space within the system. The H250, in its standard design, requires no electrical connection, which permits excellent flexibility. With a choice of construction materials and connections, the H250 is a popular option within the water treatment, food and pharmaceutical industries.
