Systems Automation & Management (SAM) is one of the larger value-added resellers of automation equipment to the metals and mining industry in South Africa. Products offered range from market-leading brands of scada, PLCs and drives, to niche market networking and disaster recovery systems.
Through its turnkey project experience, a need for software control and monitoring tools was identified. The constantly changing development, commissioning and maintenance environment means that the risk of losing a portion (or all) of a project's data is a reality.
The VersionWorks product, popular in Europe for disaster recovery and data asset management of automation systems, has been implemented in SAM's engineering department as the first step to marketing the product in South Africa.
