Distributed I/O cabling up to 60% faster

The new Fast Connect system for the Simatic ET 200S distributed I/O system can save up to 60% of cabling time compared to conventional cabling technology. Fast Connect is used with the new ET-200S terminal modules Electronic (TM-E) and Power (TM-P) from Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D).
The individual conductors with a cross section of between 0,25 and 1,5 mm2 are no longer stripped using 'insulation displacement', but are inserted directly into the corresponding opening of the terminal module and secured by a slider using a screwdriver. The new cabling system matches the conventional screw and spring-loaded terminals in terms of connection frequency and withdrawal force.
The new terminal modules are compatible with the conventional modules of the Simatic ET 200S modular system and can be used in combination with these in one station. They permit pre-wiring without electronic components, the replacement of the terminal box and the use of the plug-in, low-impedance shield connection technology. By means of 'hot swapping', the distributed I/O modules can be replaced during system operation.
