Versatile industrial automation solution

The PAXI, from Micropower Instrumentation, is a versatile device that may be used as a cost-effective solution in many small-scale industrial automation scenarios. In a typical example, a customer extrudes rubber hose, and has a need for a counter/rate indicator. The indicator needs to be capable of counting in metres, and showing the rate in metres per minute. The operator needs to be able to enter a setpoint, which would cause an output to be actuated when the predetermined length of hose had been extruded. This output would then be used to stop the motor drive used in the rewind process.

The PAXI, along with a PAXCDS setpoint card is all that is needed for this application. Once programmed, the operator only has access to values that the programmer decides on; in this case, SP1. The operator can display machine speed by pressing the display (DSP) button.
