Newport's iSeries panel meters, controllers, transmitters and signal conditioners are now able to connect directly to an Ethernet network via a normal RJ45 connector. The devices can send and receive data in TCP/IP protocol.
The series can serve Web pages over an Ethernet LAN or over the Internet, making it possible to monitor and control a process through a Web browser from anywhere in a facility or anywhere in the world. No computer is required, as the iSeries meters or controllers connect directly to the Ethernet network.
The temperature/process meters and controllers feature large displays and change between green, amber and red for any set points, ranges or alarms. Standard universal input allows simple menu selection of more thermocouples, RTDs and ranges of process voltage and currents.
A single serial communications option is selectable for either RS232 or RS485 using MODBUS or Newport's ASCII protocol.
If required, e-mail can be sent from the iSeries to alert for alarm conditions or for status update. Each device is assigned an IP address on the network. The iSeries is also compatible with conventional data acquisition and control programs, as well as Visual Basic and Excel.
