Industrial electro-pneumatic control

Pneumatics & Hydraulics
For close to 50 years, Fairchild has been a leading authority for the manufacture of high quality pneumatic and electropneumatic controls. Their growth stems from the developing technology in four main product groups - pneumatic pressure regulators, volume boosters, relays and electropneumatic transducers. This technology is available throughout southern Africa through the field service, distribution and technical resources of Protea Automation Solutions.
Fairchild manufacture a complete line of precision pneumatic regulators including positive pressure, backpressure and vacuum models. Part of the complete product line includes one of the earliest types of electro-pneumatic control: the M/P motorised regulator with motorised adjustment using AC, DC, or DC pulse control signals.
The electropneumatic transducer was developed as a smaller, lighter and more cost-effective alternative to the M/P. The unit will accept analog or digital input control signals and converts them into regulated pneumatic output that is directly or inversely related to the input.
Piezo-ceramic technology is relatively new to I/P and E/P control. A piezoelectric ceramic disk covers an orifice. An electronic signal to the disk causes a deflection that opens or partially closes the orifice. Internal electronic feedback assures precise output pressure control. This technology is extremely resistant to shock, vibration and changes in position.
Pneumatic air volume boosters reproduce a low flow control signal with a greater flow regulated output pressure. They use an unregulated output pressure to maintain a regulated output pressure under flowing and nonflowing conditions.
