Guided microwaves for solids level measurement

The Vegaflex series of level sensors from Vega Instruments are a good solution for particularly difficult level measurement in solids. Vegaflex is a new design from Vega, allowing levels to be measured reliably and virtually independently of the product features.

Levels are reliably detected even in products with changing humidity or fluctuating dielectric constant. Even high and narrow vessels up to 20 m can be measured with a Vegaflex.

Microwave pulses are guided along a steel cable and are reflected and evaluated as soon as they reach the product. The device can be calibrated without having to change the product level.

Product adhesion, dust and noise generation during vessel filling do not affect the high measuring accuracy. The Vegaflex sensors are compact units that can operate as two-wire 4 to 20 mA sensors (loop-powered).
