RAID subsystem

Advantech's RAID (redundant array of independent disks) subsystem provides more reliable and larger capacity data storage than a single hard disk drive. Two kinds of rack mount RAID models are available to fulfil different needs for data redundancy.

The RAID-8001 provides an economical SCSI-to-IDE RAID architecture, up to six 87,5 mm EIDE HDDs can be grouped to function as a small/medium capacity single disk for a host system.

The RAID-800S provides a high performance/availability SCSI-to-SCSI RAID architecture, up to seven 87,5 mm SCSI HDDs can be grouped to function as a medium/large capacity single disk for a host system.

Protection against disk drive failure is provided by the subsystem. It allows one HDD failure without affecting the system’s data integrity. The failed HDD can be hot-swapped with a good HDD on-line and lost data will be automatically rebuilt in the background without disturbing the system's operation.

Two 33 CFM cooling fans are in the rear of the unit, as well as a power on/off switch and power failure alarm reset button. Two LEDs in the front display the power supply status.
