IFM Electronic has released details of the R360 decentralised input/output module designed for use in a wide range of vehicles and mobile machinery.
Parameter setting of the input/output functions enables use in diverse applications, reducing stock levels, and due to the CAN bus with CANopen protocol, the application can be quickly implemented. The output module provides a current control function for proportional valves, and hydraulic valves can be directly connected to the module without additional electronics.
All required contacts for the sensors, actuators, CAN bus and power supply are provided via the central plug. When a cable harness is used no additional terminals are required. Meeting IP67 requirements, the modules are fitted with a CAN interface to exchange data with the other bus participants. The CANopen protocol also permits fast and flexible connection to the bus.
The R360 module is housed in aluminium and connection is via a 55-pole connector, latched and protected against reverse polarity. Operating from 10 to 30 V d.c., the module is suited for distributed systems in construction machines, as a control module for agricultural machinery and in hydraulic triggering applications.
