Advantech's RS-200-VF/RF is a compact rack-mount e-server chassis for high-density Internet and telecom applications. Suitable where space is limited and high availability is important, it provides high-speed processing, fast storage capacity and reliable performance.
Despite the ultra-slim 2U housing, the chassis has six drive bays and a choice of two or three PCI expansion slots. The server board uses high-speed single or dual Intel Pentium III CPUs. The VF/RF models use the VIA 694X/ Serverworks Serverset III LE chipset, and both boards have a 133 MHz front side bus.
The VF model supports 2 GB of PC-133 SDRAM with ECC. The RF model supports 4 GB of registered PC-133 SDRAM with ECC. The board designs also feature onboard display, SCSI and network controllers.
A high-speed video display is provided by an onboard ATi Rage series chip with 8 MB of SGRAM. Three hot-swappable SCSI hard disk drive bays provide robust storage capacity and data protection. An optional external SCSI port is also available on the VF model. The e-server chassis has a full complement of I/O options including dual Intel 82559 fast Ethernet controllers that support 10Base-T and 100Base-TX via RJ-45 connectors.
Multiple fans provide ventilation and thermal performance. An alarm board in the chassis detects fan speed, chassis temperature, system voltage and power supply failure. This allows remote monitoring by optional SNMP software.
