Safeset, a range of pilot-operated safety valves from IMI Safety Systems, has been updated in response to a growing demand for a lightweight safety valve. Its makers say that Safeset has been redesigned to give unrivalled, leak-free, precise operation - to help reduce fugitive emissions and minimise product loss.
The latest Safeset design incorporates a unique full nozzle with positional locking system that provides a number of advantages over conventional semi-nozzle designs. It offers improved serviceability, is easier to maintain and allows accurate repositioning of the sensing line. Its makers predict long and trouble-free service life, and the more efficient design promises to deliver higher discharge coefficients.
Safeset is particularly suited to the demanding conditions of the oil and gas industry - both onshore and offshore as well as chemical and petrochemical processes. It has a non-flowing design and is available with a pop or modulating action. It is designed for (gauge) pressures between 180 kPa (1,8 barg) and 45 MPa (450 barg) and temperatures between -46 and +260°C.
