Rhomberg claims to have developed an industry breakthrough in pressure gauges with the new process pressure gauge 'Xtra'.
Already welcomed by customers demanding a steady pointer and longer life in tough applications, the 'Xtra' provides a lower cost solution for applications traditionally handled by liquid filled gauges. Because of its lighter weight and easier handling, shipping costs are significantly reduced. The dry gauge system also eliminates expensive fills.
Historically, pulsation and vibration have reduced gauge life and made them difficult to read. Until now customers have had no alternative to liquid filled gauges to solve vibration and pulsation problems.
The 'Xtra' features a patented design using the 'Manocont' movement incorporated into the industry standard Rhomberg Pressure Gauge with PBB and PBZ/PBX case styles, 100 mm dual and stainless steel internals. There are two dampening pots; one pot sits behind the pinion, the other on the segment shaft. The dampening effect is achieved by fitting a disc or flag on the extended axles. A pot filled with thick silicon is then pressed over the axle. The disc or flag with a large surface area rotates in the silicon causing the dampening through friction. A spring on the segment tail absorbs a lot of the initial shock wave so the other parts are more protected.
