Schneider Electric South Africa has announced that it has signed Electrilabs as a service centre partner for APC by Schneider Electric, for its single-phase uninterruptible power supplies (UPS).
The partnership coincides with the opening of Electrilabs’ new premises at Unit 1, Probuild Commercial Park, 347 James Crescent, Halfway House.
Since it was established in 1999, Electrilabs has been an APC partner. The new agreement covers the full APC single-phase UPS range and includes swap-outs and repairs, as well as onsite services for hardwired single-phase UPSs.
“In today’s ‘always on, always available’ world, where businesses cannot stop and downtime is measured in money, APC by Schneider Electric provides protection against some of the leading causes of downtime, data loss and hardware damage, power problems and temperature,” explains Riaan de Leeuw, VP for IT division, Anglophone Africa.
“It is therefore imperative that the company has reliable service partners, such as Electrilabs, to ensure that our customers are able to receive consistent and speedy service. In some respects, a UPS is like a car, it requires various sorts of servicing over the course of its life. Nobody is in a better position to provide those services than APC by Schneider Electric partners.
“Even if a customer makes use of cloud-based server resources, there are UPS needs, as the routers or switches supporting the network connection become paramount for uptime, and thus need UPS protection. Our partners are in a great position to assist customers about the importance of UPS maintenance.”
