Smart cellular I/O makes the IIoT smarter than ever

July 2016 Industrial Wireless

Moxa’s new ioLogik 2500 Cellular I/O series provides smart 4-in-1 data acquisition to meet the fastest growing and most demanding I/O requirements for hard-to-wire and IIoT applications. The ioLogik 2500 cellular device combines remote I/O, Ethernet switch, Modbus gateway, and datalogger capabilities into one device. Featuring Moxa’s unique smart cellular connectivity, smart data gateway, and smart control logic, the ioLogik 2500 provides reliable cellular I/O communications for most applications.

Smart cellular connectivity

The ioLogik 2500 series features dual SIM failover with three-step cellular reconnection, and dynamic IP access, which provides the most reliable cellular connectivity. The smart cellular reconnection technology recovers from unexpected disconnections automatically by using a sophisticated algorithm that combines (1) trying to reconnect to the cellular network, (2) rebooting the system software, and (3) rebooting the system hardware. Engineers no longer need to go onsite and restart the hardware every time the cellular signal gets disconnected.

Smart data acquisition

The ioLogik 2500’s two serial communication ports can be used to collect data from field devices using the Modbus RTU protocol from sensors and meters at remote sites, and then generate tags to actively update the value to MX-AOPC UA server in the cloud, which ensures the lowest data transmission cost and provides efficient yet smart device data management.

Smart control logic

The ioLogik 2500 supports Click&Go Plus for front-end I/O intelligence through IF-THEN-ELSE control logic for users to easily configure SMS, email, or SNMP trap alarms for delivering real-time notifications, allowing users to respond much more quickly to critical events than would otherwise be possible. The new Click&Go Plus supports graphical logic design and updates to 48 conditions/actions for easier and more powerful control logic deployment.
