Call for papers – International Process Automation & Control Conference 2016 (IPACC 2016)

The International Process Automation & Control Conference provides a platform to showcase and establish the current state of industrial process automation and control and renewable energy systems, both in South Africa and internationally. Presentations covering the foregoing and allied fields of activity, either of a research, theoretical or application nature, are sought from academic and industrial practitioners.

The conference offers a unique opportunity for researchers and practitioners to share their work and impart knowledge and experience. It is open to all industries and members of the public, as well as research and academic institutions, and will bring together researchers, academics and industrial practitioners in the relevant fields. Invited and selected papers will be submitted for consideration of CPD-accreditation by the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) to benefit ECSA-registered members. The invited and selected papers will be published in various engineering and scientific journals.

Topics to be considered, but not limited to, include:

• PLC systems.

• DCS systems.

• Scada systems.

• MES systems.

• Profibus and ProfiNet systems.

• Neural network and fuzzy systems.

• Cascade, ratio and split-range control.

• Applied research in teaching.

• Renewable energy systems.

• Sensors and applications.

• Industrial automation.

• Modelling and simulation.

• Operations management.

• Energy management.

• Safety management.

• Control valves.

• Variable speed drives.

• Analysers.

• Environmental factors in manufacturing.

Abstract and paper submission

The official language of the conference is English. Participants are requested to submit their papers in English to: [email protected] or [email protected]

Important dates

First call for papers: 21 September 2015.

Second call for papers: 19 October 2015.

Third call for papers: 16 November 2015.

Acceptance notification: 26th October 2015

Registration opens: 26th October 2015

Print ready papers: 4th March 2016

Registration Closes: 4th March 2016

Registration and fees:

Registration for the conference will be done online, as per notification, at http://www.ipacc.com

The registration fee is payable before 4 March 2016 and includes full participation, lunches, break refreshments and a banquet.

Venue

The Southern Sun Garden Court Marine Parade, situated on OR Tambo Parade in Durban, offers top class conferencing facilities and has been chosen for IPACC2016.

Accommodation and transport

These are for the delegates own account. The conference website will contain the required links for accommodation, which will be available at the conference venue, and transport to/from the airport.

Organisers

The Society for Automation, Instrumentation, Measurement & Control (SAIMC), in collaboration with Montwood College, will facilitate the sharing of research and applied knowledge in the process automation and control fields at IPACC2016. Papers will be peer-reviewed and will be available in the conference pack to all delegates.
