Level control for water purification applications

Level Measurement & Control
Telco sensors do not make use of optical lenses, this means that the transmitter and receiver may be placed facing each other to form a through-beam system - or in parallel to form a reflex or a proximity system. Other advantages to be had (as a result of not needing lenses) are alignment is not a problem, and neither is contamination from the product. With an IP67 - class sealing Telco sensors can be applied to processing systems subject to a high level of humidity.
Telco sensors are among the most reliable on the market, and are often chosen for some of the most demanding applications in industry. One of their noteworthy attributes is their ability to continue detecting through water, steam, dust, dirt and sunlight.
One application of note is the level and overfill monitoring for various media. (Where dirt build-up is too heavy for through beam and there is no room for a proximity sensor, Telco sensors are mounted at 90° to each other.) Even if the media swirls around in the container or lightly cover the light barrier, the output-signal will not be triggered until the desired level has been reached. Fouling of the sensors is not really a problem. Examples in industry include applications where high and low levels are detected in effluent in water purification systems.
