Connector and housing specialist Escha has introduced the refined M8x1 and M12x1 ‘Food&Beverage’ connector line, tailor-made to meet all the requirements for applications in the food and beverage.
In the food industry, the specific requirements of machinery and plants far exceed those of classical machinery. The new Escha connectors in hygienic design can also be used in environments where they come in contact with food. Interactions between the materials and the food being processed are averted and high resistance to detergents is guaranteed.
Development benefits from past experience
The development of the new products is based on the extensive experience Escha made with the ‘Food&Beverage plus’ line in this application environment and was realised following the design requirements of the EHEDG (European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group). The extremely smooth surfaces prevent dirt build-up and guarantee non-residue cleaning.
Furthermore, all Food&Beverage HD connection and junction cables consist of FDA-conformant materials: V4A-stainless steel for locking nuts and screws with inner vibration protection as well as PP-based overmolding and cable materials. These plastics are resistant to ECOLAB-certified detergents. With protection classes IP67 and IP69K, the HD-connectors fulfil the high requirements for high pressure and steam-jet cleaning.
