Pneumatic components with a hygienic design
October 2013
Pneumatics & Hydraulics
Rexroth pneumatic valves and cylinders have a hygienic design and are made from corrosion-resistant material. This allows them to be used in wet and splash areas where there is an increased risk of corrosion, such as those found in the food industry; and with the new MH1 series maintenance units available from Tectra Automation, even compressed air can now be prepared exactly where it is needed.
The MH1 series features high quality materials and a special design that makes the maintenance units especially safe for use in wash-down applications. All of the materials – stainless steel 316, PP, PTFE – as well as the lubricants, are FDA approved and resistant to corrosion. As a result filters, pressure regulators and accessories fulfil the strict demands of the food industry. Another benefit is that the components can be cleaned under high pressure.
The soon to be released hygienic pressure regulators are also suitable for use in the food processing sector, covering a temperature range from -10 to 90°C with dry air. They are in line with Rexroth’s strategy of bringing a hygienic design to all pneumatics components. The company already offers EHEDG-certified pneumatic valves, as well as various pneumatic cylinders with a hygienic design for use in the food and packaging industries.

Pneumatics & Hydraulics
Those working with hydraulic or pneumatic systems know that keeping your machinery running at peak performance balances productivity and cost. As systems age, they often become less efficient, requiring more energy and more frequent repairs. The good news is that you don’t always need to invest in an entirely new machine to solve these problems.
