Krohne has introduced its new, non-contact FMCW radar level measuring device Optiwave 6300 C featuring a special drop antenna made of plastic, making the device virtually maintenance-free and making the antenna washing systems superfluous. Due to the shape of its antenna no deposits can form on it, which means that measurements remain unaffected. When it comes to dusty applications and uneven surfaces, the powerful signal of the high frequency radar plays the starring role. Its great dynamics guarantee superior measuring accuracy and no special equipment is needed to adjust the antenna. Optiwave 6300 C allows measurement even while filling, thus guaranteeing reliable level monitoring at any time. For corrosive environments, there are drop antennas featuring PP or PTFE flange plate protection. In addition to the drop antenna, a stainless steel horn antenna is also available for use at high temperatures
Applications are found in the following industries: cement, mining, iron and steel, chemicals, food, paper and power, where it can be used, for example in silos, hoppers, storage containers or conveyor belts. Thanks to a wide selection of materials, antenna sizes and antenna materials, the right measuring device is available for a wide variety of bulk materials and environmental conditions.
