The TP temperature plug from ifm electronic offers a low cost alternative to conventional head transmitters. It is a Pt100/Pt1000 measured signal converter providing 4-20 mA analog values. In contrast to head transmitters, it features two standardised M12 connections, considerably reducing the need for complex mounting. Temperature sensors with a M12 connection can be screwed in without any tools during the wiring of head transmitters, which minimises the chance of any error.
The transmitter features a measuring range that is scalable from -50 to 300°C via IO-Link. The green status LED signals the operating status. Full potting of the housing ensures high vibration resistance of 20 g (10-2000 Hz) and prevents penetration of moisture. This is proven by the IP67 protection rating. The small size and four-wire evaluation make the TP temperature plug especially suitable for harsh applications since it can be installed in a safe location via a connection cable.
