Commercial Shearing’s hydraulic valve test stand
May 2013
Pneumatics & Hydraulics
The valve shown under test is the model VP Pulsar proportional control valve.
Commercial Shearing recently commissioned a new hydraulic valve test stand that will enable the company to offer a service to customers by helping them achieve cost savings through elimination of unnecessary valve replacements. Based in Boksburg, Commercial Shearing is a major supplier of hydraulic equipment and solutions to the mining, earthmoving, agricultural and forestry industries.
With this test stand, Commercial will be able to test all functions in its wide range of mobile control valves. These include flow, port and main relief valves with spool leakage, pilot and solenoid functions and set individual spool flows; and port pressure relief valves. Options available include open, closed centre, load sensing, pilot and solenoid operated.
The test stand is equipped with three hydraulic pumps:
* A load sensing piston pump with pressure up to 310 bar at 100 l/min.
* A gear pump with pressure up to 240 bar at 47 l/min.
* A gear pump with pressure up to 220 bar at 9 l/min.
It also has a flowmeter capable of measuring up to 250 l/min for setting individual section flows on stackable valves.

CT Hydraulics (Nqoba)
Pneumatics & Hydraulics
Those working with hydraulic or pneumatic systems know that keeping your machinery running at peak performance balances productivity and cost. As systems age, they often become less efficient, requiring more energy and more frequent repairs. The good news is that you don’t always need to invest in an entirely new machine to solve these problems.
